My friend says things like this, I’ll say I look big in something and he’ll just agree and then say he likes it. At first I would get upset and think “but isn’t he supposed to tell me I’m not fat?” It’s great to see a little girl learning what I’m only just learning now - that the size isn’t what makes you beautiful
